Nicqueos had always been somewhat of an amateur poet, but upon listening to Hip Hop for the first time, his love affair with music was born. He began to put his poetry to rhythm, and in the 8th grade, he performed live for the first time. Amazed at the overwhelming response, he knew he had found his calling. At 14, he recorded his 1st song, and was astounded by the sound of his artistic voice. Finally, he had an outlet. 

 

Shortly thereafter, he went AWOL from the group home he was residing in, and lived on the street.  As a freshman in high school, Nicqueos was homeless. He kept his clothes in his gym locker, and showered in the locker room after football practice each night. He slept in parks, on buses, and even in gas station restrooms. All the while, he never gave up on his dream, and continued to write. He began committing small crimes, trying to get enough money for food, but eventually progressed to bigger crimes.

 

 At 15, Nicqueos was arrested for armed robbery and incarcerated until he was 23 years old, Born in Inglewood, CA, Nicqueos’ father was world renowned bass singer Melvin Franklin of The Temptations. Unfortunately for Nicqueos, he never knew his father; only who his father was. His mother fell victim to drug addiction shortly after he was born, and as a result, he was placed in foster care early in his childhood. He was never in any one place too long however, and moved around quite frequently. From foster homes to group homes, and from city to city, Nicqueos never knew the meaning of stability. But despite all the hardship, he knew peace in the form of art. 

serving 7½ years in correctional facilities. While incarcerated, at the age of 19, Nicqueos was involved in a prison race riot, and was stabbed repeatedly in the back, chest, arms, and hands. He was also stabbed in the face. Due to severe blood loss, Nicqueos flat-lined while still on the way to the hospital. He was revived, but was in a coma for the next 2 weeks. When he awoke, he was informed that the entire right side of his face had been shattered, and a metal plate had been inserted to maintain facial structure. 

 

Since being paroled, Nicqueos has become a father himself, which has strengthened his determination to succeed. All of his focus is on his career, and he refuses to look back. His life has made him who he is, and he has never been more passionate about his craft. He did not choose his past, but he can definitely orchestrate his future. 

 

He is currently in the studio, working on his debut album, tentatively titled “Product of the System”.
